Our History

Tequila Los 3 Garcias was founded in 2000 as a family brand, a business man who has been involved with tequila and agave for over 30 years inaugurated his own distillery 15 years later, in 2015. Naming it Casa Tequilera Alcardan.
Over these past decades, Don Carlos has studied and researched much about tequila and its mesmerizing process. He has turned his knowledge and passion for tequila proudly into creating his own brand; Tequila Los 3 Garcias de Arandas (Tequila 3G).
Our smooth taste begins with the cultivation of our own agave plants on over 800 hectares of our fields, with over a million Blue Agave Webber plants, at different stage of maturity. Don Carlos personally selects each individual plant to produce only the finest tequila found in Mexico. After each plant has been carefully chosen our tequila starts coming to life.
Proud of its´Chicago roots, the brand was first introduced in 2003. Tequila los 3 Garcias has been receiving a great deal of attention for its supreme craftsmanship and quality. The Garcia family takes great pride in their heritage and product, striving daily to produce a top quality spirit which can proudly bear their name.
We hope that when you experience Tequila Los 3 Garcias for the first time our passion will come across with every sip and you will see, this is the stuff legends are made of.

Process

HARVEST (JIMA): The key to making the finest Tequila on the market starts in the agave fields. After 6 to 8 years of planting the agave and maintained in a healthy environment. Our agave is now ready to be harvested. The COA, is a special sharp tool used to cut off all of the spiky fleshy leaves and leave only the heart of the plant (piña) so it can be taken to the distillery to continue with the process.
DROPOFF: We then receive the agave and an analysis done to identify the sugar content of the harvest.
COOKING: The agave is then introduced into our traditional ovens (mampostería) to keep the process as natural as possible. About 90 tons worth of piñas are loaded in one of ovens and slowly cooked at about 90*C for 20 hours. We then let the agave set and cool off for an additional 24 hours.
EXTRACTION: The perfectly cook agave is transferred to the mill, where it first goes through a type of crusher to obtain smaller pieces for a better result.
Agave juice is obtained through the mill, where the purpose of this process is to extract the juices from the agave and separate the bagasse. During this process, mineral-rich water is applied to help extract the juice.
FERMENTATION: During this process the agave sugars are transformed into ethyl alcohol. Fermentation takes place thanks to the action of different microorganisms, particularly yeasts.  Fermentation conditions such as temperature, type of yeast and nutrients influence the characteristics of the final product.
DISTILATION: A process whereby a volatile substance in a mixture is separated from another by evaporation and subsequently condensed again. Our tequilas are double distilled to give more crisp taste and a more crystalline finish.
AGING: Our tequilas are aged in white oak American barrels. Time of aging depends on the profile and brand name of the tequila. Each of our profiles and brands are created to satisfy every pallet it touches with smooth citric hints.
BOTTLING: All of our tequilas are supervised to have the best consistency. The bottles go through a machine that rinses, bottles and labels our tequila, to be checked and double checked for quality control before every box is sealed and ready to satisfy our customers.
